Soho VFX Multi-year Accessibility Plan

Message from the Owners

As we continue to evolve and grow as a company, it’s crucial that we uphold our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in everything we do.  Today, we are excited to share our multi-year accessibility plan, which will guide us in making significant strides toward creating a more accessible workplace and environment for all.

Introduction

Soho VFX strives to meet the needs of its employees and customers with disabilities and is working hard to remove and prevent barriers to accessibility.

Soho VFX is committed to fulfilling our requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.  This accessibility plan outlines the steps we are taking to meet those requirements and to improve opportunities for people with disabilities.

Our plan shows how we will play our role in making Ontario an accessible province for all Ontarians.

The plan is reviewed and updated at least once every 5 years.

We train every person as soon as practicable after being hired and provide training in respect of any changes to the policies.

We maintain records of the training provided including dates on which the training was provided and the number of individuals to whom it was provided.

Commitments

Customer Service

We welcome clients of every type and ability, recognizing the diverse needs and preferences they may have.  Our dedicated staff are committed to accommodating a wide range of requests, ensuring that each client receives personalized attention and support tailored to their specific requirements.  Whether it involves adapting our services, providing alternative formats, or offering additional assistance, we strive to go above and beyond to ensure a seamless and inclusive experience for every client.

  • New staff will be trained to attempt to accommodate any special requests made by clients related to accessibility.  We will emphasize communicating in a manner that takes a person’s disability into account and upon request, provide accessible formats and communication support for persons with disabilities.  This is ongoing indefinitely.

Design of Public Spaces

Soho VFX will meet accessibility laws when building or making major changes to public spaces.

  • Our parking lot and workstations will remain accessible in perpetuity.
  • We will expand the public eating areas to be more accessible within the next three years.

Information and Communications

We are dedicated to ensuring that our website is accessible to individuals of all abilities.  Through continuous evaluation and improvement, we aim to provide an inclusive online experience where everyone can navigate, interact, and obtain information effectively.

Our efforts encompass various aspects, including intuitive navigation, alternative text for images, clear language, and compatibility with assistive technologies.  By prioritizing accessibility, we seek to remove barriers and enhance the usability and enjoyment of our website for all users.

  • Company communications will be available in different accessible formats for those who require it within the next year.

Employment

Soho VFX affirms our commitment as an equal opportunity employer.  We recognize the importance of accessibility and welcome the use of assistive devices, service animals, and support persons by our employees, applicants, clients, and visitors.

Our policies and practices are designed to accommodate and support individuals with disabilities, ensuring they have the tools and resources they need to contribute their talents and skills to our team.

Training

Soho VFX is committed to providing training in the requirements of Ontario’s accessibility laws and the Ontario Human Rights Code as it applies to people with disabilities.

  • We will make the accessibility laws and Ontario Human Rights Code available on our internal servers as part of staff training materials within the next year.
